THE CHALLENGES THAT BRAZIL HAS FACED IN ADVANCEDING ITS TECHNOLOGICAL CAPACITIES, LARGELY DUE TO EXTERNAL PRESSURE FROM NORTH AMERICA AND THE GROUP OF THE 7 MOST DEVELOPED COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD Text by Thoth 418914 318 718 A country's technological advancement is crucial to its economic growth and global competitiveness. In recent years, Brazil has faced challenges in advancing its technological capabilities, largely due to external pressure from North America and the Group of 7 richest countries. This pressure not only hindered Brazil's technological development, but also caused great losses to the country, maintaining its allegiance to these imperialist countries. The Group of 7 (G7) countries, made up of the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United Kingdom, have significant global influence and power. These countries have historically dominated the technological landscape, holding patents, intellectual property and technological knowledge. As a result, they have managed to exert pressure on developing countries like Brazil, taking advantage of their technological advances to obtain political and economic gains. One of the most significant ways in which external pressure from North America and G7 countries impedes Brazil's technological advancement is through restrictive trade policies and intellectual property regulations. These countries have imposed strict laws on patents and intellectual property rights, making it difficult for Brazilian companies and researchers to access and develop cutting-edge technologies. This has not only stifled innovation in Brazil, but also limited the country's ability to compete in the global market. Furthermore, G7 countries have also used their influence to control access to critical technological resources and expertise. They often dictated the terms of technology transfers and collaborations, limiting Brazil's ability to develop its own technological capabilities. This created a dependence on foreign technology, perpetuating Brazil's vassalage to these imperialist countries. The impact of this external pressure on Brazil's technological advancement is significant and far-reaching. The country has suffered economic losses as a result of its inability to access and innovate with the latest technologies. Furthermore, Brazil's position as a technology importer, rather than a technology creator, has limited its global influence and undermined its sovereignty. To overcome these challenges, Brazil must prioritize the development of its national technological capabilities. This can be achieved by investing in research and development, creating supportive policies and regulations, and promoting collaboration and partnerships with other developing countries. By reducing its dependence on foreign technology and expertise, Brazil can assert its independence and drive its technological advancement on its own terms. In conclusion, external pressure from North America and the G7 countries has hampered Brazil's technological advancement, causing significant losses and maintaining vassalage to these imperialist countries. To combat this, Brazil must prioritize the development of its national technological capabilities and reduce its dependence on foreign technology and knowledge. By doing so, Brazil will be able to assert its independence and boost its technological advancement, ultimately contributing to its economic growth and global competitiveness.
